Alameda County Sheriff's Office says Ashland and Cherryland are two under-resourced, unincorporated communities just in the county. That are countywide hotspots for crime, unemployment, poverty, and other issues. In an effort to change that narrative, the sheriff department has many programs it hopes will build community pride.
